Engaging the Future: Our School Outreach Experience

Recruit in Malta is coming to your campus!

How do you navigate work as an international student in Malta? If you are one of the students we met at English Path Malta, American University of Malta, Global College Malta, or Domain Academy, Hello again!

Over the last week, we hit the road (and a fair few campus corridors) to demystify part‑time work in Malta. We showed you how Recruit in Malta can make the jump from lecture hall to payslip a whole lot easier. We understand how how difficult is is to work as an international student in Malta.

Each campus attracts a richly international student body. Meeting you on your own turf allowed us to answer questions in real time! From “Can I work more than 20 hours?” to “How do I build a standout CV if I have only done summer jobs?”. (Short answer: focus on transferable skills and concrete results.)

First, we tackled the everyday hurdles you face as international students in Malta. Lecture timetables that collide with shift rotas. The paperwork mountain of single‑permit applications, housing‑authority attestations, medical screenings. JobsPlus registration, and for hospitality roles, the elusive Skills Pass! Take a look at this free SkillsPass walkthrough and checklist so nothing slips through the cracks.

With the admin tamed, we moved on to confidence boosters. How to research a potential employer, frame your “selling points,” and walk into an interview knowing you have a clear story to tell.

Our promise of end‑to‑end support

Our typical approach after a quick consultation is to line up only the roles that fit your skills, visa conditions, and study schedule. No endless scrolling, just a shortlist that makes sense. We stick around, too, handling application paperwork, prepping you for the client interview, and checking in after your first shift to be sure everything clicks.

For anyone who needs a driving licence, security tag, or other licence to unlock the next level? We guide you through that process so your career can grow at the same pace as your ambitions.

Finally, we lifted the curtain on opportunities you rarely see on public job boards. Front‑of‑house hospitality, retail, admin support, logistics and junior technician roles. These entry‑level posts often fill through word of mouth, and we make sure you hear about them first!

The proof? Students like Umesh, Ali, and Oluwakayode started on temporary contracts and now enjoy full‑time positions they love. Their journeys remind us, and hopefully reassure you that a part‑time role today can become a career‑changing springboard tomorrow!
